| Haha, I haven't posted in so long I couldn't even find the "post" link XP But (obviously) it's been found. Unless this post somehow doesn't end up in the right place.. >.<
In any case, second year came and (for the most part) went. Pretty different from first year. Fall semester was working at an elementary school 2 days a week and taking 1.5 days of classes. Much less stressful on the academic side. Working in a different elementary school was a good experience too- seeing how every school (and teacher) has a different feel and does things differently.
Nothing new over winter break, except maybe cramming for the Praxis during the last week or two (praise God, I passed =P). Second semester of second year is even less stressful academically- no classes; just an externship. So I'm now working at a nursing home 5 days a week. It's definitely different, working with old people. I've decided I really hope that if I get to be that old and can't be all there, I want to be pleasantly confused. Some of the old people are really cute.. haha. It's the ones that think they're with it but aren't that can be hard to work with XP But even in the very confused stage, a lot of them can still sing familiar songs. Once I walked into the gym and everyone was singing "You are My Sunshine"... soooo cute... ^.^
But 'the end' really just started to hit me yesterday when my roommate was talking about her last day seeing her Thursday kids. It's very different, living on campus as opposed to exploring the college town itself (actually, it's been really neat to be discovering more of the town of C'ville when I back to visit- see all the stuff that I never explored as an undergrad). It's been fun. And going to ACF (Agape Christian Fellowship) has been good new experience too. Got to experience what it's like not really knowing anyone in a group, but then slowly realizing that people actually do remember who you are (even if you can't remember any of their names.. XD). Today was the last large group of the year (I guess my last [college] large group, like.. ever...), and at the end everyone prayed for and laid hands on the graduating people and.. I was just really touched and felt blessed. It was good. God is good (all the time).
*sigh* So one more week left of externship stuff and then lots and lots of cleaning and packing. If only our graduation gowns weren't purple......

| I said first semester was stressful, but it was nothing compared to second semester XP (granted, hindsight is 20/20) But now that's over, thankfully. After classes we all had a May placement, mostly all in elementary schools. It was a fun experience, and I think I'll actually be missing some of the kids.. =P And ya know, I don't remember ever encountering a speech teacher while going through school... did see the speech room in the library of the middle school our church is currently using though, haha.
Lots of travelling during May 'mester - graduations at Tech and Princeton, baptisms back home, Lynchburg retreat (which included a horrendously windy mountain road), Special Olympics (and visiting friends) in Richmond... luckily they were all lots of fun and worth the gas money =P
Now all that's done, I'm... still in Harrisonburg =P (though, actually, I'm really going to miss this townhouse when we move out...) We're running the.. "David Kruger Scottish Rite summer camp" and the "Summer Autism Camp" at JMU. I get to work with the 2-4 year olds in Scottish Rite. Tomorrow is day 1 and.. heh, we'll see how it goes XP
And because youtube links are great, here is a sappy Hallmark commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRX7tdh1Ww4

| It was.. definitely a busy semester. Quite stressful. But thankfully, I've managed to pass (in grad school, that means a B) my classes- yaay. Even better, our Dysphagia teacher said, "I don't think you guys will kill anyone!!!!" =P All our teachers said this was the worst semester, but.. I'm not sure I believe it since we've actually got more classes on our courseload next semester. *sigh* Oh well. One step at a time...
Don't have much else to say since life is pretty uninteresting right now- break is wonderful that way though. Hooray for sleep and no classes =)
Some links I've accumulated: Japanese Soccer with Binoculars - ahahahaha XD only in Japan... it's *great* The Right Brain vs Left Brain test - you can actually make her spin both ways if you try hard enough (though it might give you a headache.. heh) http://www.stage6.com/ChannelFrederator/video/1608236/Internet-People!---The-Meth-Minute-39 - for the youtube junkies =P Nebraska Senator Sues God but 'God' responds to legislator's lawsuit Shane and Shane's "The Eagle Song" - in case you haven't heard it yet =) I love it. But you might not want to turn the volume up too high... =P

| Arrive in Harrisonburg safe and sound on Monday. Got stuff moved in and then.. didn't unpack =P Still working on that. I'm living in a 2 br townhouse btw, with a girl from UVA as my roomie- we're in the same program. Yay for having someone else to figure stuff out with. And also, yay for internet! Just got online today and so now I have lots of things to catch up on and many pages of syllabi to print XP Orientation for our program was today and yesterday and it's... very much overwhelming >.< Luckily, I believe most people are feeling the same. At least everyone seems very nice and willing to chat with us worried grad students about stuff. Interesting stats about our class: - ~28 people in the speech path program, 5 in the audiology one - 2 guys in speech, 2 in aud - at least 3 married and 1 engaged in speech, 1 married and 2 engaged in aud - 2 asians (me and an indian girl) in speech, everyone else- caucasian (tho one girl looks like she could be half) Classes start Monday- blaaaaaarg >.<

| Also known as NYSC or simply Hofstra - huge retreat for churches in the New York / New Jersey area, mostly the Christian Testimony (CT) branches. Anyway, got back Monday evening and then proceeded to go watch Ratatouille with some of the youth group. I am therefore muchly fun-ned out XP haha Hofstra was awesome (of course). Messages and workshops were just so... meaty =) So, in case anyone's interested, I put some of the recordings online. We'll see how long I get to keep my UVA account. Aside from the messages, worship in the music hall was great too - yay for good acoustics, haha. And fellowship with everyone was also very sweet. So much fun and lots of laughter. Heaven will be Good - can't wait =) At the cross I bow my knee Where Your blood was shed for me There no greater love than His You have overcome the grave Your glory fills the highest place What can separate me now
You tore the veil You made a way When You said that it is done
John 17: 9, 24 "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours." "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory..."
We are the Father's gift to the Son...
